My Bike - I cherish...

Last night I had (carelessly and foolishly too) parked my bike on a slope and was happily munching my dinner. I suddenly heard a rollicking sound and was shocked when I turned around to see my bike lying down helplessly. How I felt afterwards made me realize how much I love my bike.

The heart became heavy and the eyes became moist (remember, I hate to exaggerate), the feeling can be mapped to the one that a mother gets when her kid trips and falls down to get hurt or the one you get when your loving pet gets bruised by a speeding car. I forgot that I was in the middle of my dinner, without even wiping off my hands, I lifted my bike, made her stand upright, checked everything from the lights to the brakes to the kicker and confirmed all is fine and then resumed my dinner - half-heartedly though - with my thoughts fully inclined on my bike.

That made me understand what my bike means to me - one who never once betrayed me right through the 63000 Kms she has been with me (My brother who actually owns it, have used it for 20000 kms himself). Older she has become, the noisier she has become, but never ever troublesome she has.

Few of my friends rate their bikes as their first Girl Friend, I will pleasantly agree with them, my bike indeed is one for me.

"You have been with me in times when I needed you most, you have helped not just me, but many many of my loved ones, you have never complained my inability to maintain you (due to the slimness of my wallet), you have kept doing what you know to do...I'll forsake you for none"

  12. Ha ha ha...Never mind Chandra, always safe to stay away from something that is allergic :)

And I just spent 3600 on my bike :( After 86,000 Kms, it badly required a major overhaul and replacement of various parts - Did exactly that and feeling really good about it..Though the wallet looks seriously disturbed due to that :)

Thanks for your comments anyway, will certainly write more and keep you updated.
